Spear Zon Questions

Being i just found Stoneraven and Hone spears

I have some questions being I am building a spear amazon (its the fend ie no dodge/valk build)

1. Is 1 point in Jab enough?

2. I plan to max out Lightning Strike, but for the secondary synergy lighting skill which is better - Charged Strike or Power Strike?

(im edging towards powerstrike cause Lighting strike takes care of multiple targets, but does charged strike do more dmg then power strike cause the bolts can hit multiple times or is that rare unless its vs a big target?)|||i see two options for the higher levels:

either high jab or high charged strike to kill bosses:

jab with crushing blow, charged with huge lightning dmg to single targets

one point in jab can be enough and id max charged strike instead of power strike either way, just because power strike is only a synergy skill afaik|||I think 1-pt Jab is enough if you're gonna end up with enough +skills gear to pull it out of the negative modifiers, but just max it if you can afford the points. For lightning I would also pick CS over anything... it's much more versatile and I'm willing to bet it's still more powerful than PS vs single targets despite the numbers difference onscreen.|||A high level jab can really bite you later on agaisnt mana burn monsters.

I prefure to just have a jav setup and a maxed fury to deal with PIs. CS requires too many synergies to be effective., and your build will obviously not be a +skiller gear setup.|||I was thinking like this:

Weapon 1

1 Jab

20 Fend

Switch Weapon

20 Charged Strike

20 Lightning Strike

Passive Skills

10 Critical Strike

20 Penetrate??? (depends if i need 20 in it, yes unlike javzons I will have good attack rating, so thats one of the reasons why I originally wanted to use PowerStrike)

Prerequisites

Poison Javelin, Power Strike, Lightning Bolt, Impale

Remaining points into either jab to get positive damage or Power Strike for synergies to Lighting Strike/Charge Strike and or maybe both.|||I'm assuming no, but just in case you're doing this on hardcore, I'd go:

20 Fend

20 Charged

20 Penetrate

20 Valk

D/A/E to taste, something like 5/3/5.

Yes, there is the fend bug, but in HC, safety first.

General playstyle: get a defiance merc, put up merc/valk/decoy and fend from behind the meatshields, almost nullifying the d/a/e problem. Depends on defense and not on leech.|||yea i thought about it.... but i think not leaching cause of the missed x attacks from the fend bug will be worse than taking that 1 hit HC or not....|||Maxing fend and putting points in D/A/E isn't too wise. A waste of skillpoints for just alot of whiffing.

Works ok with jab... if your IAS is high enough.

And the hide behind your meatshields doesn't work THAT well. Alot of monsters have an insane reach anyways and will just target you when your attacking them. Even more so with big mobs.
