How does +max damage apply to the bow's final damage?

How do +max damage jewels or +max damage charms apply to bow damage? Are they applied to the base and then multiplied by the ED%? Is the ED% applied first then the max damage is simply added on?|||IIRC they are multiplied by off-weapon ED but not on-weapon ED. I.e., the formula goes (weapon damage*all ED)+(off-weapon damage*off-weapon ED).

Also, if you socket a +max damage jewel IN a weapon, it gets applied AFTER the on-weapon ED bonus, so the calculation goes the same.

what are examples of off weapon ED? skill based, laying of hands, fortitude, things of that nature?|||Yeah, you got them all.
