uber trist zon

need your input guys. how would you build a zon specifcally for uber trist duo'd with a zeal pally. i know a zealer can solo, but we want to duo for fast runs. here are my options...

Lf or Bow. gear isnt an issue. and merc. what a2merc/gear will have best survivability.... if that's even possible in there.

tia|||It would mean true risk to a zon. A java zon can take out all the ubers like nothing but gots no chance vs meph. Maybe a bowazon could do it but seems to be tough work.|||a strafer could be a great helper to the pally, she could do crowd control by using the monster's flee and hit blinds target mod. if you do this, i highly recommend using a silence crusader bow. it has pretty much everything you'd need to back your pally up w/o being a total wimp.

ps. his fanat aura will really help you.

Exactly what I had in mind. Monsters flee is the only way a zon will even have a chance at all.|||thx for the replies guys..

i have a decent LF zon, but shes a puss w/o infinity merc, and merc is pretty much food in there. any suggestions on keeping merc alive?

.. maybe a coh would be better? or should i just forget about trying to keep the merc alive.|||Only a CS zon will actually be of any major offensive use, and even then like you said you'd need very specific gear that will limit your overall usefulness.

A status-effect strafer is your best bet. As you said, the zmiter is enough to get the job done, you're best served by being a support char rather than a second nuker.

I'd go with Blackhorns+Cleglaws for big Hit Slows Target, it should work even against Ubers, IIRC, assuming you actually land a hit on them (GA always hits, so that's actually not a problem) Silence provides everything else you need. The only downside would be that your Silence's Blind/Terror overrides your zmiter's Life Tap against all non-boss creatures, but he's not attacking them anyway.

Your merc is just going to die, its inevitable. Not only do the Ubers deal huge damage anyway, but your Merc suffers the usual boss penalty (I think x4 damage vs act bosses). No way to defend against that for a merc.|||Quote:

My merc survived (in town lvl20 BO, at field lvl15 BO) around 10 min while killing Dia and Baal.

Against Meph merc had no chance, he got killed in couple seconds.

Merc used that time

Reapers

Forty or CoH (not sure anymore)

Dream (Confuse kept merc alive)

One option is Jabber, at least she can survive there without problems.

Jabber with absorb (2xraven, thundergods,hotspur,the rising sun, blackhorn's) gear, at least she can survive ~5min against Meph without any problems. CoH/Duress,Dracul's and Stormshield for those other slots.|||I posted this into chipmc's Witchwild String Strafeazon Guide...
