faith mat wo forti for multi?

Ive had the good (fantastic) fortune to get the runes for faith and pick up a 3 skills Matriarchal bow. This however is as far as my wealth/luck goes and I will not be able to make a fortitude.

I dont want to get into the multi vs strafe debate. I love strafe but Id like to try multi with a great bow. So my question is: will a faith Matriarchal bow without fortitude be a fast PvM killer with multi?

I have war travellers and I can afford to make something like duress or lionheart. I also have atmas, giant skull and mav helm, final set-up will depend on what ias I need|||for the price of a faith u can prolly get a wf + forty, which is better than faith mb imo

u can easily solo hell cs with an upped lycanders + lionheart.

so it would work, but bang/buck wf+forty > faith mb in my opinion

duress is an armor for strafers btw, since for multi only the two arrows in the middle carry effects|||If the Lo is the extent of your wealth, I'd strongly consider making the Faith in either a Great Bow (-10 WIAS) for speed or Diamond Bow (0 WIAS) for a tight damage range. Either one should be fairly easy to final MS breakpoint with any roll Fanatasism (48/70, respectively, for a 12-fanatasism roll).

The problem, of course, is that you lose +3 Bow skills, but you gain average damage in both cases. Considering the +skills don't add any damage and you can always hard-place those points, the +skills doesn't really make a significant difference.

What does make a significant difference is the ability to put the Great or Diamond Bows on an Act 1 mercenary. So, by using a normal bow, instead of an Amazon Only bow, you gain flexibility (if you ever want to try a Faith+WF+Forti setup) and damage... win-win, I think.

Also, yes, Faith without Forti will kill sufficiently fast, just not as fast, obviously. I'd recommend LoH for the Demon Damage, as that will make a very noticeable difference against said enemies. For armour, my top "cheap" choices: Lionheart adds plenty of nice bonuses for cheap; and Black Hades gives decent Damage to Demons and 3os, which makes it very modulable.|||cant believe no ones mentioned treachery yet...

edit: though i guess w/ faith you dont need much ias even for multi.|||I prefer Black Hades with 3x IAS jewels over Treachery myself. They both give you the same IAS, but Black Hades adds up to 60 base Damage to Demons and you can use Ruby/Diamond Jewels of Fervor for even more added damage (general or against demons). The fade on Treachery shouldn't proc too often (same thing about the hit recovery) and the Venom isn't really worth the extra damage from the Black Hades, in my opinion.

Black Hades is basically my modifiable pre-Forti armour of choice.|||thanks for the feedback. Asking questions here one is guaranteed to get answers from players who come at the problem from a different angle and suggest a re-think. So I especially appreciate people still answering the main question. I am keen on the zon bow. I've played a strafer with wf and treachery before. It was super, but I want a different experience. I might hope I can get a forti later on...|||Quote:

way too heavy imo. str req is high and it slows your r/w movement down.

if you're going the socketed route why not just use something like a 4os/life armor or even griswold's. a good rare with 2os would be something cool, though you'd be down to 2os by that time and if you only need that, spirit forge has 2os and decent mods.|||so if ure sure about making that faith now, rather than later, make it in a gmb, even with only 8 fpa it has a higher dmg output|||yeah mb is totally unoptimal for almost all purposes, but a gmb with fort will work excellento. or a cheap setup, I recommend the highly undervalued incredible performance setup that i swear by:

Andariel's visage with 15 ias jewel

Highlord's

Windforce with shael

Treachery

Laying of Hands

Raven Frost

Razortail

Raven Frost

War traveler

Inv:

Whatever you can find

Merc:

Might merc with whatever!

Only requires 1 expensive item, Windforce (which is cheaper than Faith!) and rest of the items can be got for pgs.|||Quote:

treachery is great, but don't only the 2 middle arrows gain the venom damage?
