Poison javazon?

[:1]So, i'm trying to get a new build together (PVM). My idea of massive amounts of poison damage is firmly stuck in my head, couldn't think of a better character to do it with than an amazon. So far for my build i have been trying exactly how to manipulate poison in my favor, of course, plague javelin will help me spread the poison quickly through a large/small groups or just one individual target. Now to pick out my equipment.

Alright, so can any of these runewords be equipped to a javelin?

Or just the usual

Also considering for the build.

Shield

Gloves

Armor

With this, i will have a high poison skill %. Which will work well to get me through normal and most of NM, providing i can use the equipment. Unfortunately for me, Hell is where most of this stuff will finally be able to be equipped, so i may have to spend alot of grinding in the lower difficulties before switching.

I really need to lower enemy resistance though. what are my options?|||-javelins cant have sockets so no runewords.

-trangs might not be the best, it depends on if you are throwing like my (dead) grandma and how fast you want to throw.

-what's your secondary attack? poison only takes ~42 points to max. i've done both cold (bow) and am currently doing light, they both have their benefits. there's also physical (jav) and physical (bow).

next time, just list the items by name, we know what they are.|||I like the +25% poison skill damage on the gloves.

Sorry for the links, I still don't have my items down, makes it quick and easy to get back to the stats out them when someone says something about them. Like the gloves, forgot why I picked them.|||Does plague function like rabies where it causes the game to crash?

I'm asking because I've never used a plaguezon for pvm (always go with my hybrid CS/Strafe+GA build).|||Quote:

I hope not. 8-(|||Quote:

no. rabies causes crashes because of all the invisible missiles it creates. plague is pretty basic in comparison and i've never had it crash anything. light fury, yes, but not the poison skills.

i like to run right up next to something, throw a plague javelin in it's face and have the jav pierce. it creates multiple clouds.|||How does Venom combine with Plague and Poison Javelins? Does it limit damage to 2 seconds?

Plague and poison javelin are very high damage skills if both are maxed so getting through NM without the runeword-ed gear should not be a massive problem. Kill speed is the major issue - you will toss a couple of javelins, and then step back and run away while the poison does its work. Also, you will encounter some Poison Immunes and some monsters, like Andariel, who have about 80% resistance to Poison. It's nice to have another skill to attack with for the PoisI's and to do something useful as you wait for the poison. It can be something simple like 20 points in Magic Arrow with a bow on weapons switch, or even one point in guided arrow (combined with a good bow like Kuko, or Goldstrike Arch or one of the elite bows if you have one.) LF is a great alternative, but it can overpower your poison skills -which is probably not what you want. Frozen Arrow is the other standard alternative.

Having a wand with lower resist charges on switch is another alternative, although this will not help with poison immunes with >115% Poison res.

It is also useful to get your pierce fraction up high.

I am currently playing a HC Zon who is aiming for maxxed LF and CS and about 25-30 hard skill points in PoisJav and PlagueJav (and <10 in Valk, which is the major drawback.) It is superb fun and she is currently flying through NM.|||Quote:

The poison cloud is unaffected, but the poison damage applied by the physical hit of a poison javelin is affected by Venom. Math happens and it does lots of damage, but isn't really useful as it only hits 1 target at a time and is on a long cooldown.

From SSoG's guide on how to 1shot Baal

Quote:

Step #3: Throw a Poison Javelin until the Javelin actually PHYSICALLY HITS the target (i.e. passes the AR Check and deals physical damage). When the javelin PHYSICALLY HITS, the bitrate from the Venom will *STACK ADDITIVELY* with the bitrate from the Poison Javelin itself, and the poison will last for its entire listed duration. In this case, the 2117.5 Venom-based poison damage per second will combine with the 2048.69 PJ damage per second to give 4166.19 poison damage per second over 104 seconds (433,284 total poison damage).|||trangs might be the best gloves if u really like to focus on psn java. id go with a max valk for this build. combines with a might merc shell deal considerable dmg and is an incredible tank to hide behind. some into critical strike and decoy. it will be a rather mediocre killer, in respect to time, but oh so safe
