Help! (Nostalgiazon)

[:1]Hey all,

I used to play D2 a LONG time ago. Just started again recently, and wanted to relive a little of my glory days as a bowazon.

Anyways, I plan on making a GA/MS zon using WF. The rest of my gear is really up in the air; I haven't been able to decide on much.

The problem is that I'm on NL, so I can't get Fortitude so I'm trying to figure out what else to go with.

If anyone can help me build this zon (skills, stats, rest of gear), I'd greatly appreciate it!|||You sure you want GA? It changed a long time ago so you cant multi-hit with it anymore, if it been THAT long since you played

You can still get Fort on NL, you just have to trade for it. If you cant find it, i think both Lionheart and Duress are decent options you can make.|||Get a CoH its good.|||Quote:

Truthfully I'm open to other suggestions, I am not familiar with all the changes that have been made. I'm gonna be doing mainly PVM, if that changes anything. Thanks for the response though!|||Subscribed. I'm also back after about a decade away, starting as a scrub bowazon. If GA is out of fashion, are you saying MS/Strafe is the way to go now?|||I myself have a Guided Arrow/Strafe zon using a windforce, I would not recommend doing MS/Strafe because only one or the other is really necessary, guided arrow is still good for bosses. If you want to be really "classic" my zon used vamp gaze with shaftstop to get the 50% dr and some nice leech.

Gear like this would probably work:

Helm: Vamp Gaze

Armor: Fortitude is optimal, after that COH is best, Shaftstop if nonruneword

Belt: Razortail, pierce is always good

Gloves: Crafted or rare bow skills (+2, preferably with other nice stats)

Boots: War Travelers (for the adds 15-25 dmg), if not that Waterwalks are good for dex, Gores for some crushing blow

Ring 1: Ravenfrost (CBF, Dex, AR)

Ring 2: Your choice, I use a rare dual leach ring, BK ring would do great too.

Amulet: Atma's for the amp, Highlords for the extra deadly strike.

Not really sure where this leaves you in terms of breakpoints, maybe someone could find that, but that will determine what you put in your bow/helm and maybe even your amulet choice.|||Have no fear! If budget is an issue - i have designed what i believe to be the most cost effective bowazon build in the game. Aside from WF, everything else is cheap cheap pg material. And most importantly - it kills, FAST. And has that WF shine:

it is possible to use the 8-frame windforce build in such a way that it is in fact the CHEAPEST of the big-bow setups:

Andariel's visage with 15 ias jewel

Highlord's

Windforce with shael

Treachery

Laying of Hands

Raven Frost

Nosferatu's

Raven Frost

War traveler

Inv:

Whatever you can find

Merc:

Might merc with whatever!

it is CHEAP. Only requires 1 expensive item, Windforce (which is cheaper than Faith!) and rest of the items can be got for pgs.|||I dont think you can get Andy's for pgems but a good build nevertheless, and you can scale it seamlessly into higher-ticket items like Fort later, if you wanted.

Another good scrub bowazon build is the medusazon/slowazon, its one of my favorites for untwinked new zons because all the gear is so cheap that most people just trash it: Blackhorns, Rattlecage and Cleglaws gloves are the core of the set. Pair it with a WWS and Atma's ammy and strafe away. Upped Kelpie on your merc and boss fights will seem like you're someone from the Matrix.|||Quote:

How do you deal with physical immunes?|||Quote:

Going to have to try that out before the ladder set... boredom ftw
